Guerillascope are delighted to share the launch of a TV campaign in support of The Fearless Fox & Daring Deer, a new children’s picture book by Leicester author Joe Nixon.
The book, inspired by true stories of animals taking over towns and villages during lockdown, has been released as part of fundraising efforts for the NHS, with all proceeds going towards the creation of a new children’s hospital.
Leicester Children’s Hospital will be home to a world-leading heart surgery team, as well as BrightSparks, an NHS Trust-supported charity that supports art for mental and physical wellbeing.
With rainbow tributes to NHS workers adorning windows across the UK, Nixon, who is also the co-founder and Creative Director at Arch Creative, teamed up with Nottingham-based illustrator Ami-Lou Harrison to create a picture book that captured the colour and positivity of the movement.
The Fearless Fox & Daring Deer is published by WORD!, a poetry organisation uniquely co-produced by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
A TV advertising campaign, planned and executed by Guerillascope, will now feature across the likes of Milkshake, Nickelodeon, Boomerang and Disney Junior, with various channels generously supporting the cause. Production of the ad was managed by Arch.
Commenting on the campaign and book launch, Nixon said: “I was inspired to write a story for my young niece and nephews, who were finding it difficult to understand why they’ve been trapped at home during lockdown. The book has entertained them and given them hope for a better world when the crisis is over.”
“The Fearless Fox & Daring Deer is dedicated to NHS staff, carers and frontline workers, and all of those who have lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic”.
